The City of Taylor has selected ATS to assist them with building inspections and plan review services.

ATS is pleased to announce that it is now assisting several commercial builders including, Falkenberg Construction, Pesado Construction Co., The Barr Co., AIA, and Cromwell Builders, Inc. by providing third-party building/milestone inspection services under the newly implemented Third-Party Building/Milestone Inspection Program for Texas Military Department (TMD), Construction Facilities Management Office (CFMO) construction projects.  ATS is currently performing building/milestone inspection services on five TMD renovation projects in Taylor, San Antonio, Hondo and San Marcos, Texas.

The TMD is composed of the three branches of the military in the state of Texas.  These branches are the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard.  All three branches are administered by the state Adjutant General, an appointee of the Governor of Texas, and fall under the command of the Governor.

ATS also has the pleasure of assisting the CFMO by composing Third-Party Inspectors (TPI) Building/Milestone Inspections Program – Implementation Guidelines to assist commercial builders and inspectors with the newly adopted program.

ATS Engineers has been selected by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) to provide plan review and code compliance evaluation services for the GLO’s Texas Veterans Homes and Cemeteries, coastal construction projects and other miscellaneous facilities throughout Texas including the Alamo complex.

ATS Engineers has worked in cooperation with Gorrondona & Associates on the Hotel Granduca project, Austin’s newest luxury hotel located on the hilltop near Bee Cave Rd and Loop 360 in West Lake Hills.  We performed welding, mechanical fastening, and sprayed fire insulation inspections for the steel portions of the hotel, which include the ballroom and offices.  In conjunction with the inspections we also provided engineer letters certifying several aspects of the construction process; details of which include slag, weld and insulation thickness, side lap screws, and spacing.  Our role in this project pays tribute to the importance of hard work and attention to detail even in the smallest tasks, all in an effort to produce the lavish amenities you will find in this world class hotel.

The ATS Energy Department now ranks third in the nation for the number of multi-family units certified under the National Green Building Standard (NGBS).  The (NGBS) certification offered by Home Innovation Research Labs provides independent, third-party verification that a home, apartment building or land development is designed and built to achieve high performance in six key areas: Site Design, Resource Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality and Building Operation & Maintenance.

ATS Engineers, Inspectors and Surveyors wishes to introduce David Mitchell, PE, our new MEP Department Manager.  David brings nearly 30 years experience in creative design and supervision for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems, with a wide variety of successful projects.  David’s resume includes libraries, schools, multi-family, retail, office buildings, park trail and bridge lighting, nursing homes, etc.

The ATS MEP Department is pleased to have provided design services for the latest Napa Flats Restaurant recently opened at 8300 N. ATS Engineers, Inspectors & Surveyors welcomes our newest structural department team member, Casey Toungate.  Casey has a lot of drafting knowledge in both the residential and commercial fields for multiple disciplines, namely in architectural, structural, civil and mechanical design.  Casey currently plays a key role in the production of wind brace plans for several of our custom and large builders.
