Annual Texas State University HUB Forum

HUB ForumRecently, representatives from ATS Engineers, Inspectors & Surveyors attended the Annual Texas State University HUB Forum. This year’s theme was “Teaming For Success”. The event provided an opportunity to connect historically underutilized business (HUB) contractors and professional services firms with primes, agencies and resources involved in State agency and university government contracting. The event was very productive as we met with eight Prime contractors. The Keynote speaker was Brigadier General and Apollo 16 Astronaut, Charles Duke. He spoke about his experience working on the team that helped bring the Apollo 13 Astronauts home safely and his three days on the moon collecting rock samples. Meeting and listening to Mr. Duke made the event memorable.

Employee Garden Workday

Employee Garden WorkdayMembers of ATS’s Employee Garden Club got together on Saturday, September 16 for our Fall workday. We cleared weeds and dead plants from our communal beds, spread compost, repaired our compost bins, pulled grass from the walkways and generally tidied up the place to prepare for Fall planting. Some members planted their personal plots, while others are waiting for our next workday in two weeks when we’ll plant our communal plots. We’re looking forward to another Harvest Feast from our produce in a couple of months.

DFW Area, Here We Come!

Arlington, TXEarlier this year ATS was asked by Freese & Nichols to join them and their team of sub consultants, in submitting a proposal to provide inspection and plan review services for the City of Arlington’s Vertical Facilities Project. The Project consists of the construction and renovation of several public buildings over the next 5 years. We are pleased to announce that Arlington awarded the 5-year contract to Freese & Nichols (as the Prime) and their team of sub consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to build our presence in the DFW area and partner with other great companies. The other members of the team are Reed Fire Protection, Foster CM Group, Sunland Group, Hodges Architects and K + K Associates. The first two projects (Southeast Recreation Center and East Arlington Recreation Center/Library combination) are in the design stage, with construction expected to begin within a year. In anticipation of our growth in the area, we recently added commercial and residential inspectors, and a plan reviewer to our ATS North Texas team. We are proud to be part of a team that Arlington trusts to help ensure the health and safety of their citizens.
