Equal Opportunity Employer

Structural Engineer – P.E.

ATS Engineers, Inspectors & Surveyors (ATS) is seeking an intelligent, self-starter to join our structural engineering department. We are looking for a licensed engineer (P.E.) to grow our capability to take on complicated, high-end custom residential projects (think modern/glass/steel/cantilevers) and Class A commercial projects (retail and office shell and finish-outs). Ideally, we are looking for someone to work closely with the department manager in setting the growth path of our department.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering. Master’s degree a plus.

· 5+ years of experience in the design of building structures; ideally including experience in all project phases: framing layout for gravity and lateral, calculations and detailing during construction document phase and construction administration.

· P.E. license in Texas, or ability to obtain one in 3 months. Passed S.E. exam a plus.

· Experience designing with diverse materials and building types. Most structures we produce are one- to three-stories tall, wood- or steel-framed with concrete foundations. Ability to understand other engineers’ assumptions and apply similar rules to your design is essential.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Our ideal candidate has experience as a project manager and the ability to guide architects towards practical solutions during design development, to avoid clunky outcomes during construction document phase.

· Ideal candidate has experience designing structures using 2-D/3-D analysis software like Risa, as well as calculations (Enercalc or Excel).
